This is a paperback book that is opened to a double page spread. The two pages shown are covered only with Braille. The book is stapled together twice in the spine. The paper is of inexpensive stock, a little thicker than that of comic and looks old and brown and brittle.

The photographer who took this picture had a difficult time getting the right light on the pages so that the Braille text would cast a shadow and be more visible.
