To your left is a twelve foot
section of the Greensboro lunch counter. It is surrounded by a wood and
plexiglass exhibit barrier about 3 feet high. The counter unit consists of four
swivel, chrome-backed chairs anchored into the floor on poles and a black
counter with a three foot long empty glass pastry case on it. On the wall
behind and above the counter is a mirror running the length of the counter and
above that is a canapy with advertisements for $.29 short cake and $.39 banana
splits. On the walls on either side of the display are photographs and
newspaper articles about the sit-in and its impact.
