In order to access an E-Mentoring IDEAL Conference® Room (or Auditorium) you will need a PC minimally configured as follows:

• 800 MHz Processor;

• Windows XP Operating System;

• Sound Card;

• 750 MB of RAM;

• Internet Explorer V6.0;

• PC headset with microphone or PC speakers and stand-alone microphone;

• High-Speed Connection to the Internet (minimum download speed:600 kbps; minimum upload speed: 300 kbps).

If your PC meets or exceeds the minimum requirements, as listed above, please continue.

Test the compatibility and connectivity of your PC with The E-Mentoring IDEAL Conference® Software by testing your microphone, speakers, Internet connection and ability to hear text-to-speech synthesizers by using the following utility. Once you click on the following link, click on "Run" twice to start the utility.  It is safe to use and virus-free.

The Internet test should result in an "excellent" or "good" status and your microphone and speakers should test successfully. Once everything tests out successfully continue on.

Go to the entry page of the room you wish to enter.

• Auditorium

• Room 1

• Room 2

• Room 3

• Room 4

• Room 5

• Room 6

Once there you will see two links.

Click on the first link to to download and install the IDEAL Conference® Plug-In. You will not receive notification that the plug-in is installed.  Instead, wait about one minute after installing the plug-in and then Click on the second link entitled, "Click here to enter the conference room.”

You will be prompted to enter a Username and Password.

For your username please enter your first and last name followed by your city.  For example,

Steve Jacobs - Columbus

No particular spelling is required for Username.

Please leave the Password field blank.

Click OK.

You will then be brought into The E-Mentoring IDEAL Conference® Auditorium.

To talk hold down the Left Control key on your keyboard as a Push-To-Talk button.

Press and hold it down for about a second before you begin speaking.

Release the Left Control Key about a second after you stop speaking.
