Overview:
-
TecAccess’ award-winning
DVET program is designed to ensure that veterans receive the support, job
training, and recognition they have earned through service and sacrifice.
-
The Disabled Veterans (DVET)
initiative is driven by the dynamic teaming of public and private partners.
-
This first-of-its-kind
program uses a telecommuting model so that returning soldiers can participate
in training from their home, business, rehabilitation facility or hospital
bed. DVET implements Assistive Technology (AT), such as screen readers and
voice activated controls, for unique training opportunities for disabled
veterans.
Measurable Outcomes:
-
DVET serves as an innovative
approach to increasing employment for disabled veterans, guaranteeing
participants professional training and employment.
-
DVET provides: assistive
technology training, mentoring, counseling, job training, and the motivation
that a competitively paid and respected job is at the end of the program.
-
DVET training program
prepares participants to use computer technology and work in a wide array of
professions including IT, web and non web based accessibility consulting, call
centers, and project management.
-
The DVET training program
ultimately benefits both the disabled veteran and the hiring organization by
empowering disabled veterans to leverage their unique and newly marketable
qualifications.
-
The success of the DVET
program is measured by the successful employment for the disabled veteran in a
job or profession with a competitive salary and growth opportunity.
